Chapter Text
Beep beep.
Beep beep.
…
Beep beep.
Beep beep.
Shinsou groans as he grabs his phone. Despite what he had hoped, his mom never called back. Izuku had helped him make a little makeshift bed on the couch and he quickly fell asleep… until he was rudely awoken from his phone.
Beep beep.
Beep beep.
He looked at the time. 3:42 am. Who in the world is texting him at 4 in the morning?
He opens his phone to look at his messages
-Where are you?
-Come home now.
-Hitoshi I'm not playing.
Shinsou saw the messages and winced. He quietly stood up and started to walk to his backpack.
-I'm coming home, I was staying at Aizawa sen-
Hitoshi paused before deleting it.
-I'm coming home, I was staying at a friend's house.
He put his phone in his pocket and tipped toed around the house making sure to not make any noise so as to not wake anyone. He was thinking about slipping out without a word but he was sure Aizasa would file a police report seeing how much 1-A gets targeted by the LOV. But on the contrary waking him up seemed not as pleasant either.
He just stood there as he was thinking before he was brutally snapped out of it by his phone ringing.
He fumbles with his phone before answering it.
“Mom?”
“Oh, thank goodness you're okay. Come home.” His mom said.
“Okay. Give me a bit.”
“Where are you?”
“At a friend's house. I'll be home in a bit. Head to bed.” There was silence before she hung up.
Now he had to leave and he needed to move unless he wanted to get grounded. But still, how was he going to leave Aizawa? He was frozen again, just his hands down his pant shorts.
“Screw this-”
“Shinsou?” A growl voice said. At first, the deep, sleepy voice made Hitoshi think it was Aizawa. Then he turned and spotted a familiar mess of green hair in the darkness.
Hitoshi almost regretted waking him up before an idea popped into his head.
“Yes?” He responded, his muscles loosening. Before he could do anything, his yawned caused Hitoshi to yawn as well.
“What are you doing?" Izuku asked.
“I'm going home. My mom just called. Could you let sensei know I'm leaving so he doesn't… I don't know. Start calling the police on people.” Midoriya let out a chuckle that made him smirk.
“Yeah I will. But Eri will be sad that the guy who interrupted our sleepover is leaving without saying goodbye.” Shinsou shakes his head low dramatically.
“Yeah, I'll make it up to her at some point. But really I got to go.” He said before turning and grabbing his bag at the door. He didn’t say anything else before quietly shutting the door behind him. He started his trek at 3:50 in the damn morning. He might as well head to school.

Hitoshi was on the outside eating area minding his business. It was lunchtime and he just wanted some time alone. It's not like he had anything better to do. Everyone was so… over optimistic in his class and many people he's met that are like that don't understand boundaries.
He threw himself together a ham cheese sandwich and some chips. He mostly just grazed on it while he listened to some music.
When he had gotten home his mom made sure he was alright and stuff. She had brought back some food such as microwavable meals and snacks. She didn't really say much after that. She looked a bit irritated actually. She just went into her room and shut the door.
He tried to not think too hard about it. It wasn't his business. Although, maybe today he can ask-
“Oh, hi Shinsou.” A voice snaps him out of his thoughts. He looks up to see Midoriya…. Again. He stood there with a soft smile with his backpack on.
“Oh, hi.” He replied.
“Do you mind if I sit there?”
There was silence.
“Sure.”
Why didn't he say no? He really didn't have much of an answer for it. But regardless, Izuku sat himself next to him. He looked at the clock to see he only had ten minutes left of lunch. He should really hurry up and eat so he wasn't starving the whole day.
He starts to actually eat his sandwich. From the corner of his eyes he saw Izuku dig in his backpack and pull out a notebook and a pencil. He flipped through the pages. From the glances he got he saw some pictures of heroes on the pages and words. Once he stopped it was just a page with some words on the side and some basic shapes of a body. On the top it said, Shota Aizawa.
“Are you some sort of stalker?” Shinsou asked. Izuku almost seemed unaffected by the question. He just chuckled nervously and said, “Nah, I just… I just like to? Um… It's a thing I've done since I was a kid and… yeah.”
Horrible way to explain a hobby but whatever.
Izuku went back to writing and Shinsou just looked at him. He paused and looked around. There were a couple other kids that hung out at the corners of the eating area chatting and eating. And then he looked at him and Izuku.
“Why are you here?” Hitoshi asked. He squinted his eyes at him suspiciously. Izuku looked up at him.
“Um… what do you mean?”
“Don't pull the shit with me, Midoriya.” Shinsou snaps back. He doesn't normally harshly speak with anyone but it was like Izuku brought it out of him.
Izuku leans back, his eyes widening.
“Whatever you are thinking-” Izuku stops as Shinsou tries to calm himself by taking a deep breath. He did not need to cause another scene with this kid.
“If you are sitting here because I'm some “poor kid” who “needs a friend”, you are going to have to get someone else who'll be grateful for your charity.” He said firmly though quiet enough that it shouldn't alert anyone minding their own business.
“Why would I need to do that?”
“I don't know? Maybe to rub in my face that I lost or something?”
“That makes no sense!”
“That's why I said I didn't know!”
The bell rings. And much as Hitoshi would love to continue this, he packs his bag with his sandwich he did not finish and left to go to class leaving Izuku.

He was now in English. As much as he wanted to drift off to sleep, Sensei Yanada’s voice could keep an exhausted man awake. Although it felt better to have him later in the afternoon than early in the morning.
They were reading on some sort of debate about whether or not the law that you cannot use your quirk in public should have been made. He thought it was reasonable. So he started to highlight some things and such.
Honestly, this was better than thinking about whatever happened at lunch. Izuku sat in the second row closest to the front while he sat two rows behind him.
Now that he was thinking about… it felt petty to be acting like this. Maybe, this was an off day or something. Hopefully tomorrow he can just whip up some apology note and all will be forgiven and hopefully they will never have to interact again.
“Now,” Yamada started. “You'll be working on a presentation detailing why you think they should or should not have made the law.”
Okay… not bad.
But then he continued.
“It will be a group project.”
Oh no.
“And l will be picking your partners.”
Please send help.
Yamada sensei then proceeded to pull out a piece of paper and read off the groups. Mostly everyone had groups of two.
Bakugo and Momo
Todoroki and Ojiro
Jiro and Denki
The list went on. Hitoshi waited for his name.
Oh, please don't put him with him. There's like so many kids. Just put him somewhere far from him.
“Hitoshi and Ochako,”
Okay that wasn't so bad. Until he realized he wasn't done.
“You will have a group of three since there's an uneven number and so Midoriya will be paired with you.”
“You've gotta be kidding me.” Shinsou whispers to himself, putting his hands in his head.
