While camping with the group, Ardyn disguises himself as Gladiolus, lures Prompto outside of camp, and attacks him. Back at camp, Gladio hears Prompto calling for help and rushes to his aide. Prompto is left shaken and confused, unsure who to trust... while Gladio is equally confused and then frustrated by the younger man's fear of him.

This is so fucking awkward. Dazai doesn’t want to be here. Five years ago, he would’ve just left him. Akutagawa is so painfully tense, and when Dazai removes his hand, watching Akutagawa struggle to sit up, to collect himself in Dazai’s presence, he doesn't know what to do with it.

Vanitas snorted. „Sure.“ he drawled. „If you're so certain about it, then fucking prove it to me.“
For a moment, they sat in silence while the replica took a few seconds to completely understand the implications of that sentence. He blinked. „Did you just dare me to make you happy?“
Vanitas crossed his arms in front of his chest. „Yes, I fucking did.“
An encounter with a boy made of darkness and an argument later, the replica suddenly finds himself with the task to make Vanitas happy, with no idea how he is supposed to do that. Shenanigans and bonding ensue.
