Summary
“Hello, Thrawn,” Eli bids him, a smile shaping his lips, the heat he feels in his chest echoed in the curve of his mouth, the way his eyes resist the urge to gloss over with some amalgamation of emotion that demands to manifest in the precursor to tears.
He sees the subtle shift as Thrawn lowers his guard. He takes one step, another half dozen, and they clasp forearms, their fingers squeezing tightly. Eli leans in, his left arm comes up and around to brace Thrawn's back in the briefest, most professional version of an embrace he can offer: a compromise between Human sentimentality and Chiss stoicism.
Or, a story about finding something you hadn't realized you'd lost in the first place.

Summary
“Who is he?” Ezra asked.
“Who?” Thrawn asked.
Ezra chewed his words. The Force tugged at the corners of his mind, showing him once again those hints of companionship locked inside Thrawn’s mind — those hints of love, if someone like Thrawn could feel love.
“That guy you keep dreaming about,” he said finally. And even though Thrawn looked ill, he forced himself to say it: “Eli.”

Summary
When Ezra stepped into the corridor, he knew this was it. The way was closed off by a blast door, blackened with carbon scoring.
In front of it lay a single humanoid form.
“Vanto,”’ said Thrawn sharply. “Vanto.”
Thrawn and Ezra’s purrgil hyperspace journey is cut short when they collide with a Chiss ship under attack — a ship very familiar to the crew of the Chimaera. Eli searches for answers he already knows, and some he doesn't. Thrawn is reminded of his stakes in the game. -
