He felt like he was on autopilot.
Sometimes it was his default when he got stressed. When a disaster comes out of the blue and he has to be the one to save them all, when the mission seems like something he can’t handle, and when he has to put on a brave face for his crew, he shuts down and detaches his mind from his body.
He goes numb, completely numb, and his body moves without a second thought. He becomes the Captain everyone knows him to be; fearless and reliable. Even as fear makes his blood freeze, he doesn’t show that he’s scared. He straightens his back, takes in a breath, and moves.

“Oh sure,” Sam responds after a long pause. “Here you go. Sweetie.”
“Thanks, hon, you’re a real doll,” Bucky drawls, and pours himself another bowl of cereal, tops up his coffee, takes a mouthful of milk straight from the carton just for good measure. Sam narrows his eyes.
“That’s disgusting,” he sighs, and Bucky makes deliberate eye contact, swallows another mouthful. Sam holds his gaze. “Cupcake, come on, I gotta drink that shit, stop putting your mouth all over it.”
“I’ll put my mouth all over wherever I want,” Bucky tells him. “Sweetheart.”
“Will you just,” Sam mutters, and sips his black coffee like he’s totally unruffled, and Bucky is startled to discover that he’s the one who’s blushing. Shit. Maybe this was a tactical error.

Prompt: Hitoshi thought that Midoriya was the golden child. He decided that he shouldn't involve himself with Midoriya or class 1-A when he transferred. But after a month of trying to deter the greenet with whatever harsh words he could, he decided that he should, maybe, take another step forward.
It's not like Midoriya would understand what he's saying, he's probably never had those words directed at him since he was so privileged. But...
He watched as the freckled teen's kind smile faded away, replaced by sadness and...betrayal? Hitoshi didn't know what he did wrong until the greenet walked away and the angry blond walked up to him, anger sparking in his eyes.
"What the fuck was that?!"
And then Hitoshi learned that Midoriya wasn't as golden as he made the boy out to be.
