Summary
In Sinnoh there was an old ghost story attached to Mount Coronet. Two ghosts haunted the mountain. One was the ghost of a young girl dressed in the uniform of the old Galaxy Team of the Hisuian age. She walks the mountain paths at dawn calling out for her father. The other ghost was a man with silver hair and silver eyes. He walks along the hiking trails at night calling out for someone named Akari. Anyone he runs into is asked the same question.
“Please, have you seen my daughter? I can’t find her.”
Upon being told no the ghost would continue on his way. Calling out for his child that he could never find. The ghosts of the father and child that haunted the mountain never to find each other was a popular sad tale in Sinnoh. It was also a popular subject for late night ghost hunting shows to cover for easy views. A cheap budget ghost hunting show isn’t how Emmet should learn that his missing brother is dead and haunting a mountain in a far off region, but it is and that one show causes Emmet to drag Elesa with him to Sinnoh to find answers.

Summary
To the Pearl Clan, Zoroark’s are terrifying because of their horrific tales. Tales of humans being led to their deaths and slaughtered by those they love most. Tales of an illusion of their loved ones dying before them, emotionally toying with their prey. They are convenient tales for parents to tell their children to get them to behave, lest the Zoroarks come after them, and they are tales for hunters to remind them of the dangers of the Pokemon they kill, lest they get overconfident, slip up, and get killed.
To Ingo, Zoroarks are terrifying for all the right, and wrong reasons.

The Zoroarks of the Alabaster Icelands seem to be determined to hunt him down and lure him away somewhere. Where? Absolutely nowhere good, that's for sure.
Ingo would have never imagined things ending like this.

Self-consciously, Ingo covered his mouth. It was such a minor thing but it caused him no end of grief. The standard wind-up solider was made with a sweet smile. By mistake, Ingo’s smile had been flipped, and he’d been carved with a perpetual frown instead.

Summary
An injured Zoroark tries to wander into the Pearl Clan settlement, and they turn it away. A reasonable and wise decision. If it had actually been a Zoroark. Lady Sneasler finds an injured human in the Icelands and takes it upon herself to care for them. The human is unusual in many ways and shows no fear of her. She quickly decides to keep this human. The Pearl Clan does not like this decision.
Ingo finds himself in an unfamiliar world with no memory of anything except his own name. The humans who make their home here are frightening and unkind, but the Pokemon who takes him in is warm and welcoming. He will have to learn a lot of new and terrifying things to survive in this world, but Lady Sneasler is there to help. And if he slowly loses his grip on his own humanity, well, he doesn't care much for the only other humans he knows anyway.(Or, Ingo gets turned away by the Pearl Clan, taken in by Lady Sneasler, and goes a little bit feral out in the wilderness.)
