Summary
Penguins are overrated, in Katsuki's mind. They smell, they're loud, and they shit every ten minutes. How he ended up working with them, he doesn't know, but he hates it.
Okay, so maybe he needed a pay raise. Sue him. That doesn't mean he enjoys it. It's hard to enjoy getting bit every time he so much as looks at a penguin, after all. Let alone when he tries to handle one.
It certainly doesn't help that he keeps getting paired with Kirishima, who's all smiles and way too damn friendly for his own good.
~
Or, when Katsuki works as an animal handler because he's broke and hungry, and inadvertently warms up to both the penguins, and a certain red-haired boy.

Bakugou paused, as if considering his words. His gaze was back on Kirishima. “Mina wished you a happy date before she left… But you cancelled it again, didn’t you?”
“Obviously.” Kirishima faced Bakugou while he dried his hands. Bakugou’s ears were still pink from earlier and Kirishima wondered if his cheeks were too. “You know I’d rather spend what free time I have with you. And our friends. I’m not giving that up for Mina’s terrible idea of romance.” -

"Red.
Red boots, red hair under a black cattleman hat, red-checkered plaid, a pattern so visually loud it has Bakugou squinting immediately. Even the horse is fucking red – parts of it at least, its coppery-chestnut head and upper neck bleeding into dull, freckled grey on its chest and back.
'Mornin’! Great to meet ya proper, man.'
A cowboy. Bakugou blinks, uncomprehending. There is a cowboy in Bakugou’s horse-grooming spot. The second the thought registers in its entirety, Bakugou’s squint narrows further.
Oh, hell no. Not today."
In which Kirishima Eijirou and Bakugou Katsuki are professional riders, their horses are called Red Riot and Dynamight, and the Tokyo Olympics loom large over bonds old and new.

Summary
“Hey, no fair,” Kaminari yells, dragging the room out of its self-imposed silence. “How the hell did you get your hands on that? It was sold out by the time I got there!”
“Kami, c’mon,” Ashido giggles, glancing at him. “He was probably waiting outside the store at four in the morning.”
“Kacchan’s parents work in fashion,” Midoriya says, a shit-eating grin on his face. “Maybe he had them help.”
“Deku,” Bakugou snarls, leaning forward, “are you fucking insinuating something?”
At this angle, Eijirou can see the back of the hoodie, emblazoned with RED RIOT in blocky black letters and a simplistic design of his mask beneath it. “Bakugou,” he breathes, “is that my merch?”

Summary
"I hate every single person you've ever met. From now on the only person you've ever known is me. Only I exist. Got it?"
Kirishima smiles, swallowing before he murmurs, "That's a really tall order," and the king throws his arms out in glee.
"You're learning idioms! You got that from me, right? Do you see how I'm the only person ever?!"
"I didn't learn that from you."
The king looks so horrifically, disbelievingly offended that Kirishima wants to laugh so bad but he's shy, and he'll probably sound very horrible, so all that comes out is a low pleased rumble in his throat. And the king's jaw drops before he throws his arms into the air and falls dramatically back onto the ground.
"I found the coolest damn dragon who smiles like the moon and wants to learn from someone like me and apparently also PURRS. I'm fucking done."
Kirishima flushes a little, consumed by so much warmth that it almost hurts or maybe he's confusing pain with something else, and he reaches out to pat the king's arm except the king gnashes at him when he comes close. "Do not touch me, heathen."

“Fuck you.” Katsuki reiterated, and whether he was talking to himself or Kirishima, he wasn’t actually sure.
“You’ve been nothing but a dick to me since I got back yesterday, and I don’t deserve it. Watch your mouth.” Kirishima snapped, and the entire room paused for a few silent seconds, before Kaminari simply turned the tv up, rolling his eyes.
“Watch my mouth? HAH!” Katsuki barked a loud laugh before baring his teeth at Kirishima. “Why don’t you kiss my fucking ass? Bastard.” He sneered. He knew he was being a jerk-off, he really did, but he’d always been shit at processing his emotions, and being ticked off was easier than saying some mushy shit like ‘I actually really missed you, please don't leave me again.’
“Fine! If that’s what you want, pull your pants down. Right here, right now.” Kirishima was glaring as he set his beer and snack aside and stood.
