Anakin didn't do subtlety well. And right at that moment, they lacked the time to skirt around the subject until one of them figured out how to broach it without setting the other off. A couple hours at most was all they had.
So Anakin bit down on the proverbial bullet. "Do you believe me now?"
Obi-Wan's hands stilled in his hair. His shoulders drew up, tight as a wound spring, and for a long moment he didn't answer.
"I'm uncertain what I believe," he said finally. Quiet, hoarse. Then his throat bobbed, and he looked at Anakin with exhausted eyes. "I know I'm starving. That I miss you. That I hurt you."

“You want me to take two days off,” Obi-Wan said. “For my name day.”
“For your twentieth name day, yes,” Anakin confirmed. He scratched at an itch on his face with the back of his wrist, mindful of his grease-streaked fingers, but by the way Obi-Wan’s gaze flickered to his cheek, narrowed with quiet intensity before refocusing on Anakin as a whole, he’d failed to keep the grease from spreading.
Obi-Wan passed him a rag. “Why?”
Anakin rolled his eyes.

Obi-Wan stares at the garment as if it could grow legs and run off. “I can’t say I understand the appeal of such practices. It’s underwear, and yet it seems to serve every purpose but the most necessary one.”
Anakin has been trying very hard not to reveal his true intensity and insecurity, knowing his Master’s love for moderation and restraint. But then he buys Obi-Wan lingerie, and now he has to watch the love of his life approach his surprise the same way he’d approach a half-eaten rat in a back alley on Nar Shaddaa.
Anakin Skywalker, Chosen One, Hero With No Fear, would very much like to die right now.

He was halfway across the cell when the field went see-through. Stopped dead in his tracks and planted his heels, shoulders rolling back to mimic an ego worthy of the cockiest alpha. Worthy to match the attitude of the Jedi Master General standing in front of the window, flanked by two clones in near-identical armor and a third further back, by the closed door leading out into the ship.
Obi-Wan smiled. It was an ugly thing that put his canines on full display. Sounds filtered through to him, a low hum and the faint clacking of armor. The commline in had been activated.
"Hello Master Skywalker," Obi-Wan's grin widened.
