It is interesting to hear that Charlotte is already like this at the tender age of 18. But what she has to say is indeed thoughtful and piercing, and I admire her for speaking so frankly to a potential husband.
My thoughts were that Charlotte had to get her intelligence and practical nature from somewhere. I don't think it was just living a life of spinsterhood like we see in cannon but I think she got it from her mother. I imagine her managing Sir Lucas much like Charlotte managed Mr. Collins lol.
