Comment on The Whims of Queens and Moths

  1. I can only imagine Náro's internal reaction to seeing his mother trying to court Indis. Ha! his advice was great though, and I love that Míriel is something of an archivist, both in weaving and word.

And that despair about not knowing her son is simply delicious! Indis is adorably kind and I already love the way they interact, with Míriel questioning her every motive and still remaining oblivious <3

    1. He's definitely conflicted, that's for sure. All his life he has put a lot of thought into doing what he thinks his mother would approve of, preserving and defending her legacy. And then she returns and he wants to support her so badly but, well, she had to pick Indis?? And she actually doesn't want Fëanáro to hate his half siblings??? He's definitely still doing his best to support her but he's also having to adjust to his world view being shaken a bit.

They both don't really know each other but they're also both perfectionists and so they expect of themselves that they have to immediately gain perfect understanding of the other. And Indis of course sees that and just wants to help them avoid a disaster.

      1. They expect to perfectly understand each other because they're both perfectionists! I hadn't even made that connection, that's amazing!
