  1. I'm convinced that the Noldor view debating as a form of flirting if done a certain way.

    It took me a bit to make that connection of where Míriel's issues with the sá-sí stem from, her prescriptivism was always a bit confusing to me. Noldor are language nerds and as such should understand that language changes with society. But looking at why Fëanor feels so strongly about it, I figured it makes sense for Míriel to have similar reasons. And Hathyellë can get on board with that at least - she's not even much of a hater, Altamavarë just didn't want to approach without an audience to her bullying.

    It absolutely makes sense! To me, some of the best couples are ones that are very different people with different interests but who care enough to search for common ground even if it takes some work figuring out where their interests meet. And once they start looking they find a good foundation for it regardless of how different they are.
