   I feel like AO3 is like a good version of the Borg. Like if the Borg went around rescuing space travelers in danger and wisked people off dying planets. "Prepare to be assimilated. Resistance is futile." It takes on a much kinder meaning when it's actually true and no one is changing anything by implanting cyborg parts, but you're still joining the collective. :)
