    I know I'm not inside, and I do not have friends to invite me, I just want to read fanfic ... this is unfair.

      You can still read many fanfics. It's only those that are restricted to registered users that are locked at this time. If my understanding of the matter is correct.

        I think you can still read explicit content without an account.. you just get a pop-up before you can see the work that says "This work could have adult content. If you proceed you have agreed that you are willing to see such content." and it has like,,, "proceed" and "go back"..

          Restricting works to only viewable by registered users is an option the creator can choose at any time, it doesn't have anything to do with the rating on the work.

          I did that once because one of my works kept being targeted by an obnoxious anonymous commenter and I grew tired to seeing the malice. With the option of anonymity removed, they stopped commenting on it.
