Comment on How our Policy & Abuse and Support volunteers get in touch with you

  1. I have had some minor contacts anonymously, and I either block them or delete them. I was contacted by someone at FFN recently, and I thought it was another reader or writer. I don't know if it is or think it is related to what's happened here. I just either delete or block anonymous comments; I certainly do like to get feedback, and have no problem with criticism as long as it is polite and respectful. I just obvious troll posts or harassment, and luckily haven't had to deal with it much. I have had (minor) problems with trolling in the past on other sites - and here, I feel there is protection. As I said, I don't know if my experience was related to this or not.

Thanks for looking out for us,

    S

    1. oops, just to be clear - in my first sentence I'm using minor as in not major, as in not a big problem. Although the person who contacted me said they would 'speak to' the other person about the subject he or she contacted me about (a duplicate title of a story), I kinda did wonder if it might be someone in authority - although the comment was a "guest" comment.

      1. Really? That person was complaining to you because you had the same title in your story? What a dick :/
Titles are hard... even if titles are the same, that doesn't necessarily mean the stories will be even remotely similar

        1. True. I was a little concerned at first, because I don't see people doing that very much. But having thought about it, it isn't that big of a deal I guess. I thought I was being trolled at first. Our stories are completely different.
