It makes me so happy to hear that their devotion comes through from the start, because that's really important to me with these two: that they recognized something in each other from almost the first moment they met, and that any other kind of relationship they formed would grow out of the trust they built in getting each other out of that unlivable place. I'm very glad that came through in these early scenes (and in Melshi only being able to imagine a universe kind enough to bring him back to Keef if it was the last thing said universe ever did for him).
