        Tom didn't want any of his kids to have the name Riddle. While he reclaimed Riddle as his own, he didn't want his children to share the same name as his muggle father

        As for why Severus stuck with Snape?

        Alliteration, sounds better. Tobias died and now the name is Severus’s. So very similar to Tom's reasoning. And even if he did change it

      So when Tom was 33/34, she was 26/27

      Thats when he cheated on Eileen with her. And they had an off again on again thing for a few years later. Finally ended after she...um....gave Tom a STI

                  She did. He explicitly told her if they have children, specifically a boy, she can’t name them Severus because the name is ‘terrible’ according to him. He wanted them to choose her family’s old name before assimilation, Savir. Said it sounded better

                  What did Eileen do?
                  Name Severus Severus.

                  She forsake her family’s heritage out of spite and now Severus is Severus

                  This is how petty Tom and Eileen are. She forced him into a marriage he didnt want. So he treated her like shit. She hit him and hexed him. So he cheated. So she ran off with the baby.

                  Severus is the byproduct of these two wackadoos XD
