Sequel to "Ready or Not". Rated M for language and a lot of serious discussion of sex, but actual sex is fade to black (no lemons).
Xiao Qiao's prowess in the tea ceremony is inspired by John Woo's film Red Cliff but this fic is not otherwise related to that movie.

This is a prequel to my epic work Clouds and Rain, and is rated M for frank discussion of disturbing historical subjects. There are no explicit sex scenes but there is a "fade to black".
Ma Yunlu was an OC from an early 20th century newspaper serial whose author created an OC to marry his fave; wow, I can't believe Three Kingdoms fandom invented canon x oc fix-it fanfic. I could not resist borrowing her name, although my story bears no other relation to her origin.

Summary
Guan Yinping is captured at the battle of Fan Castle, and Sun Quan's desire for revenge on her family seems insatiable. Lu Xun intervenes. A novel length work that begins with just this simple struggle of one person to save another, but expands as more and more things change, partially thanks to the meddling of a certain mystic.
Or, as my husband put it, "tl;dr Shu and Wu officers get laid, stop being idiots."
Rated M for violent, explicit sexual, and medical content. This is plotty romance; sex to further the plot/develop characters, rather than the plot being for the purpose of getting to the sex. Chapter notes will attempt to identify sex scenes and triggers in advance. This is a dark and dangerous era with some traumatized characters who definitely hurt each other (both intentionally and not), but there is also a lot of fluff and humour. There is a scene in which a character doesn't know how to communicate withdrawing sexual consent; otherwise no non-con.
