Summary
The moon followed alongside them on the drive back. The road was still quiet, as was Max next to him, and although they were driving back into the city, it made Charles feel like they were driving further out of it, to a different life.
Charles wished the road would never end.
He wished they could just keep driving, and driving, and driving, and they'd be side by side forever in the night.
Max reached for Charles's hand, intertwining their fingers.
“One day, this will be real,” he whispered.
His voice was so full of hope, Charles couldn’t help but put all his faith in those six words.

Summary
George raised one hand, fingertips tingling with the anticipation of being placed on Alex’s cheek. Alex didn’t move as George’s palm hovered over the side of his face; he held George’s gaze defiantly, not flinching or blinking, like he was challenging George again. Challenging George to touch him. To try and kiss him again.
He was just so infuriating.
George let his hand drop back to his side.
The smallest smirk appeared on Alex’s lips, like he took that as a personal victory. I knew you wouldn’t dare. George could hear the thought.
It took every last ounce of subversion in George’s body for him to turn around and make his way back to his car, leaving Alex standing alone on the front stoop.

“I don’t think Michael’s very comfortable with George being an ex-cop,” Daniel said.
“Why?” Pierre asked. “How’d you know?”
“He doesn’t seem very comfortable when I mention George. And have you noticed that every time George might pop by, he gets a little jumpy?”
“Maybe he’s on our side of the law, too, that’s why he doesn’t want anything to do with cops or ex-cops,” Lando chimed in.
“George is an ex-cop who joined a gang. You can’t get any more our side of the law than that,” Pierre pointed out.
“Michael doesn’t know we’re in a gang,” Daniel said.
“I’m just saying. We don’t know a lot about him, Dan. Be careful."
