The sound of air escaping Denki as he fumbled his hands onto the door and dashboard harmonised with the radio static jumping stations every time he accidentally shocked it, numbers flickering up and down until Hitoshi moved his hand sideways and turned it off. That left the high-pitched, building panic in Denki’s throat even more audible. Hitoshi braced.

Summary
Years before he finds out that (Obviously) They’re Married, Kaminari Denki is realizing he might like Shinsou Hitoshi, which is a huge problem given how clearly out of his league Shinsou is. Even worse, Shinsou just asked him out on a date because of some punishment game, which is just rubbing it in Denki’s face how super terrible his entire life as a newly-self-aware gay disaster is. This is, honestly, exactly the kind of suffering he expects for himself.
It’s pretty weird Shinsou asks him out again, though. And weirder that he does it a third time.
If this keeps up, Denki might just start believing he means it. But there’s no way he could be that desperate!
