Summary
"Todd? Todd Brotzman? What the hell, dude!" Before Todd can say another word, the man – Andy – steps around the table and sweeps Todd up in a back-pounding hug, then grabs him by the shoulders and looks him up and down. "You look great, man."
"Thanks," Todd says weakly, doing the same. "You do too."

DGHDAtober, day 2: Farah - Dance
“I don't – I don’t dance,” Farah says, hand immediately slipping into her right jacket pocket. Her keys are in there, and she holds them tightly.
I have my keys, I don’t have to stay anywhere I don’t want to stay. I can always go home. I have my phone, I have my wallet. I’m not stuck anywhere.

DGHDAtober, day 3: Farah - Gore
“Here! Turn here!” Dirk gestures wildly to the cross street that they’ve almost passed, and Farah yanks on the steering wheel, pulling a screech from the wheels and a honk from the car behind them as they barely avoid a parked moped and make the turn. She takes a moment to stabilize the car, then hits the gas again, tearing west.
“Can you warn me sooner than that next time?” she growls, shooting a glare towards Dirk.
“I’m sorry, it doesn’t work like that!”

It starts with Tina. She’s visiting Farah for the weekend, and she’s on a nail polish kick. She paints her nails orange and teal, Farah’s a muted green, Dirk’s purple, and then she moves on to Todd.

Day 12 - Todd, AU
It’s September, but summer hasn’t quite faded. Todd thankfully peels off his greasy, sweat-soaked uniform, drops it in the hamper, and steps into the shower. The water is just on the cool side of comfortable, and he sighs in relief as it sluices down his skin, washing the day down the drain. He squirts shampoo into his palm and starts lathering up his hair.

Day 15: Dirk - Youth
The first time Svlad gets two activities right in a row, Colonel Riggins gives him a square of chocolate. He knows what chocolate is – his mother had brought it home sometimes, when he still lived with her – and he feels so excited to have earned it that he thanks the colonel repeatedly. It’s already softening in his fingers, the edges smudging against his skin, but he waits to be told that he can eat before raising it to his lips. It’s so sweet and startling that his eyes tear up, even though he is nine years old and doesn’t cry.

Summary
DGHDAtober, Day 19: Dirk- AU
“He’s coming in,” Panto says, a little too loudly, and Dirk shushes him frantically as the bell on the door handle jingles and a blast of cold October air rushes in. Todd, the busker from across the plaza, walks in, guitar slung over one shoulder and eyes fixed on his phone screen. Panto shoves Dirk behind the register and vanishes into the back room.
“You’re back!” Dirk exclaims, and then stammers, “I mean, you’re here! No, I mean – hi!”
