Summary
The full moon paints the whole warehouse black and white-- illuminating the sides and peeking through the big glass windows. Arish feels drawn to go inside. It’s far more than a sense of duty-- the eagerness he felt had melted away long ago. Something is compelling him inside-- a feeling of dread, a force, a physical pull. He has to go inside. The rest of the trainees are in there. His squad. His friends.
They’re all calling for him. For backup. For help. He can’t make out a direction of the cries as they echo off the ceiling. The walls shift violently into new corridors, pushing in toward the center, jutting out toward the edges.
He can hear their screams so clearly now.

"Ahti likes how you make coffee, by the way," Jesse says, staring up at the ceiling, hands folded behind her head. "How in the world is this couch so comfortable? It looks like someone dragged it in off the curb."
"Aw, does he?" Arish grins. "And I dunno. Most stuff Ahti has a hand in seems to have a bit of... I don't want to say magic, since, you know. Nature of our workplace, and all, but he really does seem to have a good effect on everything he touches. Found it!" He slams the drawer shut with his foot again, moving toward the socket in the wall where he's plugged in the coffee maker he "borrowed" from the break room.
"I wish he was around," Jesse sighs. It comes out tired and sad, which is the exact tone she wanted to avoid.
Arish and Jesse have an impromptu heart-to-heart.

A collection of some Remedy-verse writing I did in response to some one-word prompts on tumblr. I liked 'em a lot and wanted 'em here with the other short blurbs I've written.
Red - 186 words. Hiss-laden Zachariah Trench and Jesse Faden.
Song - 247 words. Jesse and Polaris getting to know each other.
Plastic - 220 words. Alan Wake tries to hold onto his old connections while writing new ones.
Birthday - 215 words. 12 year old Jesse has a question for Polaris.
Photo - 274 words. Alice Wake finds a roll of film in the aftermath of Bright Falls.
Flower - 359 words. Emily and Darling consider the origins of the plants in the House.
Dead - 327 words. Langston moves from one cat to the next.
Disconnected - 345 words. Langston drafts an anonymous report.
Fly - 258 words. Dylan watches himself in Central Executive from the corner of the room.
Home - 256 words. Jesse wonders how she might define 'home' and 'house'.Series

Hazzard is grinning at him from across the room, watching his friend slumped up against the back of the chair he's in. He's been lazily rapping his knuckles against a locker, plunking out the rhythm to some tune.
"Shhh," his brow knits together as he stops himself from scolding his friend too much. "Don't even bring it up. It's as bad as the 'q' word."
"Aw, c'mon, you don't really believe that superstition, do you?"

First Hand: Jesse stops at a motel due to Polaris’ guidance, and meets a kindred spirit.
Twist: Langston meets Warlin Door under mysterious circumstances.
Fog: Dylan fights to stay aware/unaware in his mind/nowhere.
