Summary
Boone's just trying to get through day after day in relative peace. Of course, that's just too much to ask for; after he settles in for what he'd assumed would be an uneventful night, things take a drastic turn when a kid barges into the sniper nest, demanding his help with the REPCONN site in the name of settling a score.
The surprising thing is, he agrees.Series

Summary
Six. Shit. Six.
Boone springs to his feet. He curses when the rifle keeps slipping from his hold, and twists his head around, looking for the girl’s lanky silhouette. After a couple of harrowing seconds, his eyes finally land on her, though the sight does nothing to calm him down.
Six is sprawled out on the sand, pistol aimed upright, and a Legionary is towering over her, machete raised proudly in the air in preparation to strike down.
Boone aims his rifle and waits for a single second. The Legionary begins to bear down, about to sink the machete in her ribcage, and Six winces, but nothing comes out of her pistol. His finger jerks once. The Legionary goes still, his machete falling to the side, as does most of his body.

OR: After Boone agrees to help a teenage courier in her personal quest of looking for the man that almost killed her, he realizes they'd be encountering a lot more trouble than he initially thought.

Summary
Sure, Cass has seen some weird shit in her years as a caravan trader, but religious ghouls and schizophrenic nightkin? And somehow none of them had attacked her? That’s got to be a first, even for her. Six looks young, yes, but not so young that she’d still be confusing memories with dreams, right?
“And I thought we were dead, you know? But Boone went all–” she mimics firing a shot while keeping a straight face, “and suddenly there were like three raiders down! He’s scarily good at that. Anyway, we ran into Legionaries later, and then we went to Boulder City, and–”
Cass’ eyes go as wide as plates for a moment. “Legionaries? And you’re telling me you’re alright?” she asks, her eyebrows almost up to her hairline. “Those guys got some balls to come so close to the post,” she says, and then a frown takes over her face. “Wait, did you say Boone? What did I miss?”
--------------
OR: Cass encounters the teenage girl she met a while ago at the Mojave Outpost, and it turns out she's not traveling on her own anymore. She doesn't know if she likes that.

Summary
The realization hits him hard enough to leave him dizzy, or maybe it’s that he’s still breathless from the run. In any case, as he looks at the device in front of Six, he only manages to muster up a useless, “That’s a bomb.”
“Yeah,” she replies, scratching her head. “Captain Curtis was talking about it when we got into the tower. Didn’t you catch that?” She pats ED-E’s hull. “Thanks, pal.”
With that little bit of explanation, Six starts typing on the keyboard, with no regard to Boone’s sanity since he’s about to lose his fucking mind. They’re going to die. He’s sure of it. Six keeps looking at the piece of paper clutched in her left hand, the one that will not stop shaking, and Boone’s never been more certain–
The bomb beeps one last time, and they don’t die.
--------------
OR: Boone and Six try to earn enough caps to pass the credit check to the Strip. It's more stressful than what they'd imagined.

Summary
He hadn’t heard Boone’s approach, so he’s startled when he yanks Six back by her shoulder, and it’s not just him, because having been caught off-guard, Six stumbles and falls on the sand with a yelp. Her robot beeps and comes to her aid, but Boone doesn’t pay them any mind, instead staring at Arcade with his nostrils flared.
“What the fuck did you just say?” he says, voice strained and quiet.
“What?” Arcade looks between him and Six, hands coming up in front of him. “Look, I didn’t–”
Boone’s jaw tenses, and his rifle shifts to point halfway up, a movement away from aiming. Arcade’s spine straightens as a response. He can only recall being as tense as he is now a couple of times, and one of those memorable occasions had found him frozen in place while holding eye contact with a Cazador.
“Why do you know Latin,” Boone grinds out, less of a question and more of a demand.
--------------
OR: Boone and Arcade travel with Six to the HELIOS Tower, but when they arrive there, Six finds out Boone had other plans.

Summary
Something in Arcade’s mind clicks. This is Benny, the man Six’s been talking about since he met her. The bastard that tried to kill a child over a casino chip.
Before he gets the opportunity to do something very noble and stupid, Veronica squeezes his arm and leans into his space to whisper, “Is this the guy?” At his nod, she adds, “Do you think I could go get my power fist back? I kind of want to smash his teeth into his mouth.”
God, what he’d give to do that very same thing. “I have a feeling it wouldn’t exactly work out, with all the surveillance.”
--------------
OR: Six finally catches up to Benny, but things never go according to her plans.

Summary
“Wait,” Veronica croaks, clearing her throat when it earns her a raised eyebrow from the man. She exchanges another stunned look with Arcade, who then rubs the bridge of his nose between pinched fingers, stress coming off him in waves. “Are we talking about a white guy, kind of short, wears a red beret, sunglasses he never takes off?”
The King stares at her and then huffs. “Uh, yeah. You know the guy, then, I take it?” He asks, the surprise evident in his voice.
“Sadly, we do, yes,” Arcade interjects, having recovered from his brief meltdown. Veronica’s mouth twists in a smile despite herself. “If he— When he comes back, could you please send him to our Fort?”
The King frowns. “Will do, bud. Is he going to be a problem?”
She reluctantly shrugs, and Arcade acknowledges it with a slow nod. He turns to The King, grimacing. “No, I don’t think so. Not yet, at least. We know him. Knew him. Whatever.”
