Summary
Today is like a bitter lemon.
Izuku isn’t fond of lemons; he never has been. He thinks they’re too sour. They don’t taste good in anything—not candy or soda or tea. He doesn’t like them.
His mom, on the other hand? She devours them.
She’ll have anything that even remotely tastes of lemon: Lemon gummies, lemon pie, lemon cake, lemon custard.
And today, Izuku understands why she likes them so much.

Oh, and there’s a garden, too.

Summary
Cautiously, the boy takes the bag. “Acquaintances,” he echoes, like he’s testing the words on his tongue. He folds the receipt and puts it in his pocket, still looking a little wary.
Yuta slides his change across the linoleum and affirms, “Acquaintances.”
“Not friends.”
“No.”
“Okay.” The kid checks the bag, probably to make sure everything he paid for is there, and then tucks it in the crook of his arm. He casts a glance back at Yuta, eyes skittish. “That’s—okay.”

There are five things Uehara Yuta knows about the boy that comes into the Kamino Convenience Store, and one thing he pretends not to.
