“Gah!” the Ice King screamed when he noticed Finn hesitating by the doorway, “Finn!”
“Hey, dude,” he side-stepped what looked like sauce on the floor, “... what’s up?”
“The ceiling!” the Ice King giggled, “What are you doing here, best bro?”
Finn cringed, then paused. What was he doing here?
He had been feeling … strange, ever since they got back from the trip in Ice Finn’s world. A sort of bittersweetness that couldn’t be washed away with any amount of Finn cakes. He knew that Ice Finn was fine now - back with a family even - but - well …
“Ah geez,” Finn sighed, “Guess I’m here to hang out.”

“Hey, Finn,” Jermaine greeted as Finn headed for the fridge.
“‘Sup!” Finn grinned.
It was then that Jermaine noticed the necklace around Finn’s neck. It looked kind of like a sword made of wood. How long had Finn been wearing that?
He asked the question out loud, only for Finn’s face to stutter and his fingers to wrap around the sword.
“That’s Fern,” BMO said.
Ah.
Jermaine’s heard about Fern.
(Or, after their treehouse gets destroyed and Fern dies, Finn and Jake move in with Jermaine, and Jermaine finally gets some bro-time with Finn)

Bonnie turned in their bed so that they were facing each other.
“Not a secret,” Bonnie mumbled, “Just taking it slow. Only letting people who need to know know, you know?”
Marceline leveled her with a stern look, “Which is why Lemongrab of all people know, but Finn doesn’t?”
Bonnie cringed.
Or, while trying to tell Finn about the fact that Bonnie and Marceline are dating, Bonnie ends up apologising for all the ways she's hurt Finn in the past -- and ends up learning to forgive herself too.
