Summary
There exists unspeakable horror in the world and the marks it leaves are, far too many times, dreadful, insurmountable things. Maedhros knows this, he himself bears marks that will never fade and mirror the ruin he was turned into.
Around him, other broken elves gather, drawn to the cracks and the darkness when others can only recoil. In harsh, looming Himring, they are kin.
So what does one do when something, someone, whole and precious and not touched by terror, darkness and twisting decay finds his way to Maedhros in his mountain keep?
Maedhros will not see another innocent tainted by his darkness and so he makes ready to send his guest to fairer lands and kinder elves as soon as summer comes for there is nothing here of worth to one who knows not of the dreadful things lurking in the world.
If only Fingon would also understand that. Perhaps he will yet in time.
It is for the best.Series

Summary
There is a summoning ritual every child in every corner of the world knows. It's effectiveness varies greatly, yes, that is true. And the casting time would deter many a one who does not truly want.
It goes something like this:
“Ada,” it begins. Most of the time during breakfast when dâd Fingolfin drinks gross black tea and ignores whatever minister wants to not wait in line for court and tries to cut in early. “When's adar coming home?”
The answer rarely changes. Too often, it will be some manner of, “In the summer, love.” Or something to the extend of, “Surely soon, melethon.” Which sounds nice but it is never the answer Ereinion is looking for.
It is all part of the ritual. Persistence is the key. Without that, how can he ever expect adar coming home?
And the answer to this is very simple.
Try harder.
Try as hard as he can until adar comes home.Or;
In the summer, Maedhros returns to his second home and his truest family, forever trying to leave darkness and despair behind him. It is, as always, a loosing battle. But perhaps it will be easier this year.
