“You know,” Collei turned from her spot on the couch to face Cyno in the kitchen, “I…really am happy that things turned out like this. That I’m able to live with you, I mean. You’re kinda the…the first family I had.”
Cyno feels little, and expresses even less — yet even he, the man made of stone, notices a small, genuine smile slipping onto his face.
“I’m happy too.”
The first cracks form on that black diamond around his heart.
