It had taken less than ten minutes for Commander Erwin Smith to receive his first visitor to the ship's sickbay, even though the ship's doctor and her cybernetics specialist assistant were starting to remove the ruined prosthetic arm damaged in the surface mission.
Stalking from the open door to his medical bed, first officer Levi Ackerman was clearly fuming as he walked up to his CO, planting his feet and bringing his arms up to cross his chest. Very few things got the short man in such a kerfuffle and any risk to his CO was one of them. Gray eyes burned into Erwin's blue, though the latter was unaffected. It wasn't the first time this had happened to the blond man.
It wasn't even the ninth.

Erwin finds a way to make Levi's hair turn gray and Zeke really should stop attacking the Survey Corps to get his brother.

Summary
Despite knowing each other since childhood, it was safe to say that Shikamaru Nara and Sasuke Uchiha weren't friends. Neither really were close to each other and even after nearly twenty years of sharing mutual connections, they were at best colleagues who shared the same interests. The peace of the world and the protection of their closest friend Naruto Uzumaki.
Shikamaru was the blond Hokage's chief advisor and assistant and always by his side when dealing with the internal politics and bureaucracy that ran a village the size of Konoha. Sasuke meanwhile was Naruto's trusted teammate and operative who served as his voice and hand beyond the boundaries of their home. Their roles may have been different but their goals were always the same.
The fact neither had gone beyond this state of affair in terms of a friendship had really crossed their minds.

Bruce Wayne had never been good at displaying his feelings, not since his parents were murdered in front of him as a kid. He did have his moments though, particularly around his oldest friend Alfred, his legal wards Dick and Tim as well as his eldest's on-off girlfriend Barbara. They knew he was a loving and kind man who did his best to protect them and always looked out for his family and friends. Clark and Diana were among those who were also aware of Bruce's persona, both the flaws and the struggles.
So when the Light's agents with the United Nations stifled the Justice League, it was made all the more worse for the Bat Family. Because - courtesy of Ra's al Ghul's affiliation with the group - Batman believed that everything was personal.
