Summary
Ghost has come to understand that what they do is a form of penance for Soap. Not that he thinks Soap isn’t fond of him, quite the opposite. He knows that somewhere in Soap’s brain the concepts of love and pain are stitched together. Sewn up by a religion that taught him dedication must be proved by suffering.
It’s why they fit so well together.
