Summary
He watched Izzy kiss Stede, a flash of tongue, the glistening wetness of it, and the way Stede’s brow furrowed in that way of his, when things felt good, too good, and he didn’t know how to process the sensation yet.
The furrow slackened.
There.
There they were.
Lovely men.
Edward pushed through the crowd, past the hot sweaty bodies around him, through the flickering lights and the dancing colors, and approached from the side. He wrapped one arm around each one of their waists, and, even lost in each other, they didn’t tense in response to his arrival - they recognized his touch immediately. Wasn’t that a kick to the teeth? He kissed Stede’s bearded cheek, nuzzled the skin behind Izzy’s ear, and, close now, he could hear the wet noises of their mouths together, the little whimpers coming from Stede, Izzy’s little grunts, and Edward was hard so quick he got dizzy.
They paid him no mind.

Summary
It was snowing again.
Izzy ignored the aching in his joints to stand by the window of their kitchen and watch the snowfall.
He had sneaked some coffee from the market behind Bonnet's back - he knew it wasn't good for his heart, but sometimes it felt good to have it, to sip the bitter warmth of it as winter settled in. The cold was always such a welcomed sensation after decades hostage to the Caribbean heat.
Edward joked that they were old men now, that the cold was going to fucking destroy their joints, but except for their occasional trip down to Nassau, they didn't leave their home that often. Edward had yet to grow bored of their little house, of the vegetable garden they took care of lovingly in the greenhouse outside, of the teeth-rotting sweetness of it all. Izzy had never thought himself made for such sweetness, and yet, here he stood, on the very kitchen he kneaded and baked their bread every morning, clutching a warm mug of coffee in his hands, and watching the snow fall on his propriety.
Izzy was a man that belonged to the sea, and yet he found that he didn't miss it.

Summary
He had seen Israel move, fast and lithe, a dancer in motion, getting between Stede and the sword of the Dutch sailor intent on killing him. Stede should have seen it, should have sidestepped that sword easily, Izzy had taught him how so many times, and yet he had been distracted.
Izzy made a punched out noise the moment the sword pierced his abdomen.
A grunt, a forceful release of air.

There was a rhythm to it - to how they loved each other.
Edward was a lovely creature - always, but especially like this, his long legs spread, covered still in sweat and come, a giddy smile on his lips as he tried to catch his breath.
Theirs was a dance Stede was confident they had finally gotten perfect - the tenderness of it, the occasional pain, the sweet relief of it all -, but it still never failed to leave him in awe at certain moments.
Like now.
Izzy was bewitching like this - always, but especially like this, sitting back against the headboard, the long line of his neck stretched towards the warmth of the sun, clad in only a black cravat and a ring shaped promise, playing with Edward’s hair on his lap, a satisfied smile on his pretty lips.
Stede couldn’t help but watch them.
