Summary
Maxine Mayfield leaned over him, the sun a fiery halo that glowed like embers through her hair. She had one braid between her fingers, poised above his nose like a paintbrush, and when she saw that he was awake she arched her eyebrow in a painfully familiar expression of unimpressed.
“Hey, Harrington. I’ve got someone who’s been waiting for you.”
Steve watched him fumble with his book, startled, and then (as if realising who was standing there gawking at him) Eddie lit up like a goddamn streetlamp after sunset.

Summary
“I don’t get the hype.”
Steve sniffs primly and flips the page. “That’s because you’ve never been kissed.”
Eddie shoves him, something in his chest lighting up at the way Steve huffs and whacks him back with the comic. “You’ve never kissed anyone either.”
Steve pauses to take that in, and then he’s giving Eddie a look Eddie’s never seen before. Eddie wrinkles his nose. “What?”
“What if we gave it a shot?”
“Gave what a shot?”
“Kissing.”
OR: Eddie Munson is 14 and the woods are full of stories.

Summary
“Hold the line! Love isn’t always on time!” They were probably going to get a noise complaint from one of their neighbours at the volume he was yelling the words, but Steve would care about that later.
For now Eddie was lit up by happiness and the morning sun, hair frizzy from flicking his head about and his smile made lopsided by the scars twisting across his stubbled jaw. Handsome.
“Hold the line!” He repeated, opening his eyes just to look over to where Steve had abandoned the dishes for now, grinning bright and fond. “ Love isn’t always on time.”
OR: a day in the life, but they spend their day cleaning
[steddie week, day 5: together / established relationship / hold the line, toto]
