Description:

Tales of Molly and Ginny Weasley, set in a common near-canon universe.

Teens and above.

Notes:

Known variances from canon (a work in progress):

Spellcasting drains energy from the caster. This is suggested in the text, and in JKRs comments in the Lexicon and her own site, but not explicitly stated, unless I missed something.

Sirius Black had legal control of 12 Grimmauld Place before he was sentenced to Azkaban, even if he technically didn’t own it. His father had died, but his mother still lived. He had her declared incompetent. He gave the Order permission to use it, anytime they needed to. This drove Kreacher, the House Elf, up the wall, and he encouraged the different infestations in the house while it was empty. He was trying to drive the Order away.

The Battle of Wedding Field: The Lexicon calls it the Battle of Bill and Fleur’s Wedding. No historian is going to refer to it that way. Remus describes this differently. I'm trying to reconcile my version with his description, and I'm having trouble. I may have some adjustments in the future.

Decorated ceiling in the Burrow: The ceiling is never described. It’s possible Harry never noticed, or it was just too bland to mention. My version makes sense to me.

Flyn the owl: You have an elderly owl who may not live through another delivery. When the galleons came from the Daily Prophet, wouldn’t that be one of your big priorities? The name is both a tribute and a pun.

Arndt the owl: Harry’s replacement for Hedgwig.

Professor Percy: There’s nothing in canon that mentions this, but it does make sense to me, since it’s mentioned that Percy loved to lecture his siblings. I plan to move closer to canon with Percy, later on.

Olivia Green: found in Fandom, she’s from a game. Yes, she’s a cougar. It gets worse.

Named characters: Hermione’s parents, Daniel and Emma Granger. In-joke tribute.

Molly’s parents: Julius Prewett & Polly Parkinson. Lucretia Black & Ignatius Prewett are in the Black family tree, possibly Molly’s Uncle, not parents. Ron also has an Uncle Bilious, who left him a chess set. Decided to make brothers with rhyming names, so Julius is Molly’s father. Polly was just to rhyme with Molly, then needed a last name with same initial.

Original Characters:
Cavendish Fletcher. Uncle to Mundungus. Never seen ‘on stage’. Honest deconstruction company owner.

Renee Shacklebolt, wife of Kingsley. Loosely framed around Michelle Obama. Family is repatriated, having moved to New Orleans generations ago, then her parents moved to England for family and work before she was born. Still influences her speech a bit, and food tastes more than Kingsley cares for.

Tisha Shacklebolt, Third Year. Smart, competent young lady. Admires her mom, but also wants to be like Clementine and Ginny. Getting training in martial arts by her security forces. Has an unnamed older sister, and middle brother.

Clementine Sweetleaf, Third Year. Roommate and friend of Tisha. Becomes Alternate Beater on Ginny’s Gryffindor Quidditch team. Race is undetermined, could be dark-skinned like Tisha, could be white. I lean towards dark-skinned. Gay (Tisha is not.)

Nola, owner of women and girl’s clothing shop near Hampstead. Dressmaker. Witch. Probably gay. Friend to Emma Granger, Hermione’s mother.

Original Location: Snowy Owl restaurant in Diagon Alley. Swiss fondue, moderately expensive, food is really good.

Potterwall: Harry's grandfather's home on the Isle of Man.
