Summary
Ancient history, Lockwood kept calling it, as if he had lived several lifetimes since then. And while that certainly didn’t seem right, something strange definitely had happened to time in that room. It collapsed in on itself as if the atmosphere were too heavy for it to sustain its forward momentum. Instead, the present just crumpled into the past. Or perhaps it was the other way round.
The room was an anchor to that moment, certainly — the day Jessica had died. That was there in the rapier slashes across the wallpaper, the burned mattress, the unsettling, pallid light of the deathglow. But also, Lucy thought, something funny had happened to time already, before any of that. This wasn’t the room of a teenager, nearly an adult. The same age Lucy was now. It was a child’s room, decorated in stickers, balloon wallpaper, and cutesy animal posters. Lucy imagined it was as it had been when Lockwood’s — and Jessica’s — parents had died. She wondered if its innocence had been comforting to Jessica. Or perhaps, saddled by grief and responsibility, she had just stopped considering such trivial things as decorations. The room was twice stuck in time, doubly anachronous. Lockwood’s grief layered on Jessica’s.

Summary
"Impulsively, she set the icepack on the table and leaned forward, covering Lockwood’s hand with her own. For a moment he just looked at her, his face soft and open. He did look sad, certainly, but Lucy knew enough about sadness to know that it’s not all bad. There’s one kind of sadness that hollows you out, but there’s another kind that fills you up. They both hurt, but one is a good hurt — a reminder that you feel a loss because there was a good thing to lose, and that good thing still sits somewhere inside of you, keeping the fire lit for more good to come. And the way he was looking at her, she thought maybe this was the good kind of sad."
----
Lucy gets hurt on a case, and the aftermath inadvertently brings out some stories about both Lockwood's and Lucy's pasts.
In the grand tradition of Lockwood only managing to talk about his feelings while doing first aid.Series

Summary
Lockwood and Flo friendship origin story. Flo and Lockwood are foster siblings, looking out for one another, up until the event that made Flo leave agency work.
-----
She felt suddenly as if all of the energy had been leached from her body. Tears stung the corners of her eyes, now dangerously close to spilling over. She’d been holding them at bay since that morning, since he’d caught her in the pantry, hastily shoving tinned beans and biscuits and whatever other spare bits she could find down the sides of her packed duffle. She scrubbed a shaking hand over her face.
“Locky, no. I’m not… I’m not going because— Look, I don’t want to leave you, okay?” She reached a hand out towards him, but he didn’t return the gesture, just stayed standing stiffly a few feet away from her. His arms were crossed tightly in front of him, a posture that might have come off as angry, but in that moment she got the impression that he was more so holding on to himself, as if he was physically trying to hold himself together. “But…” she trailed off, and he looked away, his lips curling into an ugly smile, dismissiveness papered over anger and disappointment. The right words felt elusive. Maybe they didn’t exist.

Summary
Lockwood is trying to avoid thinking about a difficult anniversary while Lucy is trying to deal with some news from home. They're both preoccupied and trying to suss out what's going on with the other as they head into a tricky case. Things go badly wrong, but they get to have some snuggles in the aftermath :)
Also, Lockwood picks some roses with the intention of giving them to Lucy."After that he must have fallen asleep for a bit because when he opened his eyes next, Lucy was leaning over him. His mind still felt foggy and slow, so for a long moment he just assumed he was dreaming, and he let himself stare baldly up at her. The early morning sunlight that brightened the room filtered in through the leaves of the apple tree outside his window, and he watched in fascination as the dappled light flickered over the curve of her cheek and caught in her eyelashes and a few little wisps of curls that had fallen out of place. For a few seconds there was a rare softness in her expression, her lips slightly parted and a little worried line between her eyebrows. Then her gaze met his, and reality came crashing back in. Her eyes widened, and it dawned on him he wasn’t actually dreaming. "
