Summary
Steve peels into the parking lot at Starcourt, already five minutes late. All the good spots near the entrance are gone and she has to park further out and jog and dodge around the crowds, shoving through them to rush down the escalator and across the food court.
There’s no line at Scoops Ahoy, but that doesn’t stop Robin saying: “Oh, nice of you to finally join us,” with a roll of her eyes as Steve disappears into the back to shove her stuff into the locker and arrange the stupid fucking hat on her head, viciously sliding the bobby pins into place

Summary
“Do you ever- do you ever feel that you could just disappear?” Chrissy says. Blurts, really, like the words came out without her permission. She covers her mouth like she’d take them back.
Steve frowns. She’s never been especially close to Chrissy, they didn’t really cross paths that often. But she likes what she knows of her. She seems sweet, and when the Tigeress games did get cheerleaders (which wasn’t often) she never looked like she’d rather be cheering for the boys.
She just doesn’t know why Chrissy’s here, hand pressed over her mouth, eyes under their ice-blue lids brimming with tears.
Or: Pregnant Steve and a series of conversations.
