Summary
Draco Malfoy never wanted to be a Death Eater. He'd been forced into it and failed to do the one task he was given. The Battle of Hogwarts was going to change that; Harry Potter was going to change that. Draco could forget he'd ever been branded once Saint Potter killed the Dark Lord. He'd been resting his entire future on that outcome.
But the Dark Lord wasn't defeated that night. The Order and Harry Potter vanished and Draco was left with eight years of animosity to fuel his rage. Eight years to become the Dark Lord's most lethal weapon. Eight years to become a monster. They waited eight years before deciding this was still a war they wanted to fight.
Every war has its prisoners, but Draco had done his best at making a name for himself as a Death Eater to leave only death in his wake. Draco Malfoy took no prisoners. Sequel to Somewhere Only We Know
Hermione had let herself be taken to Malfoy Manor for one reason, and one reason only. Kill Draco Malfoy. Instead, she ended up faking her own death and taking on Astoria Greengrass's persona to marry him in order to help Draco end Voldemort's reign of terror. Until Hermione found herself not just faking a marriage to Draco Malfoy, notorious killer, but entirely in love with him as well. When Death Eater business (and horcrux hunting) takes Draco into the vampire infestation that is Romania the worst happens.

It has been six years since the death of Voldemort and the wizarding world is finally getting back on track. As far as Draco is concerned, this is the first time in his life he can remember feeling peaceful. The only thing plaguing his mind is what was running through his mind when he decided becoming Headmaster of Hogwarts was a good idea and how he was going to successfully hire anyone that would want to work for a former Death Eater.
That was until someone decided to make it their mission to take the thing Draco loved more than anything in the world, while simultaneously ruining the new world he'd been helping to rebuild after Voldemort. Hermione had become a target and Draco would have to choose between staying the passive, self-reserved man he now portrayed himself as, or falling back into his murderous Death Eater ways to keep his wife and kids safe.
