Summary
Tony shifted Peter to one arm to gently rub the tears away with his thumb. He whispered sweet nothings that not even he believed. Trauma haunted him, looming over his shoulders still. Maybe he’d never be able to keep Peter truly safe.
Maybe his little boy would grow up wondering if his Daddy actually loved him. Maybe he’d get taken, kidnapped, much like Tony had been. Maybe.. maybe he’d hate Tony when he got older.

Summary
Tony cradled his son to his chest. Adjusting Peter’s position so his ear lay right over his fathers’ heart. To listen to the steady, comforting throb. It was an old, old routine they had fallen into when Peter was still just a baby. So tiny that Tony was afraid of crushing him with one calloused hand.

Summary
Tony ducked his head inside Peter’s bedroom, the door left cracked open. The boy himself was slumped over his mess of a desk, in a deep, peaceful sleep. He used his arms as pillows; although it could hardly be comfortable, considering Peter had almost no muscle or fat anywhere on his body to cushion himself. Tony smiled a bit at the scene laid out in front of him. God, he was so lucky to have such a good kid..
Almost as though he had sensed his fathers’ presence, Peter stirred. His head flopped to the side, his hand stuttering in the air as he reached for Tony.

Summary
The initial kidnapping had been weeks ago. At least, that’s what Peter thought. He hadn’t seen a clock in.. however long he’d been kept here. Let alone a calendar.. All he knew was that it had been a long time -too long- and he wanted to get out of here and run into his dads’ arms.
It was about high time he could have gentle human touch. Scratch that - any human touch that wasn’t with the intent of doing harm to him.

Summary
Tony pulled his child into his chest. Five long years he had been without Peter.. and now he finally, finally had his kid back. He felt Peter relax against his frame, melting into the suit of armor. His arms tightened around the boy, protecting him from the war waging on around the pair.

Summary
Love was enough, as Peter had learned. Love was enough to bring him back after he dusted; love was enough for a broken man to invent time travel to get his child back. Love was enough to have his father wrapped around him like a human shield on an active battleground.

Bright crimson red stained Peter’s chest. Deepened the colored nanotech of his suit; an ugly mark. His lungs pumped softly, pulse faint under pressing fingertips. His hair lay mussed and dirty across his forehead; his hands hung loosely at his sides.

Tony pressed a kiss to his baby’s head. The child gurgled a bit, but ultimately stayed firmly asleep.

Bucky’s grip on the scruff of his collar all but tightened. “C’mon, kid. They’re gone now; just like Steve and ‘Tasha and Clint and everyone else in the godforsaken place. Please, come with and survive. They’d want you to.”
“No! I can’t- I can’t leave them, okay?” Peter squirmed, trying to run.

Tony was going to be a better man. He had vowed it the day his beautiful son was born and in his arms, breaths soft and eyes screwed shut.
He had pressed a gentle kiss against his baby’s head, looking on in sheer awe as the baby gurgled and squirmed and grabbed onto his clothes.

Summary
“Dad? Dad!” Tony woke to the frantic cries of his son. He could hear the shudder in Peter’s voice; could practically see the tears glistening down his cheeks, still plush with baby fat. He threw himself from bed, rushing to find his child.
The boy was laying in his bed, thin fingers clutching at his comforter. Tony sat himself down on the edge of the bed, reaching out a hand to place on Peter’s head. The only difference from the mental image Tony had gathered was that Peter was still asleep.

The boy lay bruised and bloody, skinny limbs laid out on the concrete like a crime scene. The Spider-Man mask still covered his face, although significant cracks laid in the eyes.

Summary
The sun, the moon, the stars. All three shone above, from twinkling pinpricks to the brightest glare. They offered warmth and chill; wonder and amazement from any who cast a glance their way.
Sometimes, Tony Stark thought his young protege was the sun in disguise; a beam of the stunning light imprisoned by bone and wrapped with flesh. He’d have almost believed his delusions if not for the sunrise every morn and the sunset each night.

Even the little quirks Peter had, like how his eyes darted around the room instead of making eye contact; how he wrung his hands and picked at his nails when he didn’t have anything to hold or twirl or tinker with.
Now, this was not entirely meaningless. That being; he knew when Peter was trying, and very much failing, to hide an injury.
