He doesn’t know what he’s doing. He moves solely on instinct when, upon having William back in his arms, he cups his cheeks. His eyes are closed, there is a cut across his forehead and his shoulder is surely dislocated from his entire weight jostling against it after Sherlock had caught his arm mid-fall. But none of that matters right now as Sherlock cups his cheeks and brings their lips together.
