Yasutomo swam for the both of them, swimming with his chest to Hayato’s back as they slowly drifted. Hayato felt weightless. He never had, never would, let anyone but Yasutomo do this to him. No one quite understood why being belly-up resulted in a near comatose state when it came to sharks, but at this precise moment Hayato didn’t have a care in the world.

Arakita made his way over to Shinkai, a happy smile on his face, and the redhead smiled back at him. He really loved seeing the other happy. However, just as Arakita had opened his mouth to speak, his smile dropped away, and he went silent, listening. Within seconds, the rest of the pod had followed suit, and though Shinkai strained his ears, he knew there was something that they were hearing that he wasn’t.
