The door opens behind him without warning. The lack of a knock coupled with the fact that Thorn had sealed it to his command level beforehand tells him enough to know who’s there without even turning around.
“Piss off, Fox,” he growls. “Don’t you have flimsiwork to be finishing?”

They’d almost made it. Fox could have probably dragged the other trooper back up to the medbay if they hadn’t been interrupted. Instead, Gander had bled out before they'd gotten close.
According to the Chancellor this tragedy was Fox’s fault, just as the failure of their joint mission hours previously had been. Fox will pay the price for both failures - alone.

Two kaminoans work nearby. They exchange notes, looking over bits of equipment and monitors while Fox waits at attention behind them for further instruction. So far they haven’t spared him a glance - or any real explanation as to why he has been summoned down here - throughout the entire time that he has been left to watch. He can only hope that the trials he has been selected to carry out do not lead to his termination - or worse, reassignment from his future as a soldier.

Summary
Fox stands at perfect attention. The senator that he is currently acting as protection detail to is actually one that would probably settle for less, but Fox isn’t willing to risk it. Besides, standing perfectly still means that he is much less likely to jostle the bruises that hide beneath his armour, the plastoid pinching them just as easily as it protects him from any unwanted questions surrounding them.
