Tommy pretends to think about it, laughing softly when Buck pouts at him. “Definitely not, no.”
“So,” Buck says, again, biting at his lower lip, “does that also mean a goodnight kiss is on the table?”
It’s extremely gratifying to see the way Tommy’s eyes darken at that. “I think that could be arranged.”
For their second kiss, Buck meets him halfway.

Inside and out, Evan’s a beautiful person. Tommy knows that. And he’d thought, maybe naively so, that it would eventually stop catching him off guard, stop tripping him up like this. Margaret’s gone for a mere five minutes to freshen up and get a quick breath of air, but once she returns, Phillip’s standing off to the side of the room, frowning. Not angrily, not quite, but he’s clearly not happy with whatever he’s watching so intently, either. And Margaret can see why once she reaches him, shock warring with confusion as she follows Phillip’s gaze only to spot Evan on the dancefloor, leaning against Tom as they sway together slowly, Jee-Yun snuggled up between them.
“He,” Phillip begins, but then seems to lose his words.
Margaret can’t blame him. She feels similarly speechless.
