Nanook wanted Caelus to be destroyed, not understanding what their feelings are and assuming the feelings to be hatred. Yaoshi wants to care for Caelus, seeing a kind soul that they wish to care for. Really though, it was inevitably that the two would butt heads about something like this.
The two engage in competition at first, with Nanook wishing to destroy and Yaoshi wishing to nurture. Except Caelus is nothing like what they both expected and the two reach a compromise once Nanook figures out the truth of their emotions.
Caelus would be theirs. And only theirs.

Lan and Yaoshi have always been enemies because of Yaoshi's actions that led to marastruck being a thing on the Xianzhou ships. Well, Lan is more the one actively trying to end Yaoshi while Yaoshi actively flees.
The only reason they're not fighting in each other's vicinity when they take on their human visages? Caelus. They've both taken a vested interest in him and both want him as their own.
Sure, they bicker constantly, but they'd rather not try to actively harm each other with Caelus so nearby. He could get hurt after all.

Caelus has been transported to the past by a time machine created by Herta to find out more about Akivili, The Trailblaze. His priority is simple: find out more about the Aeon, find a way back to the present, and report his findings to Herta.
Things don't go according to plan at first when the planet he was transported to is attacked. Caelus wakes up on the Astral Express though, so maybe everything could go according to plan? He doesn't anticipate The Trailblaze becoming interested in him.
Akivili has seen a lot of the universe, the good and the bad. They have seen several destruction and aren't surprised by it. When the Nameless bring a boy injured from some destruction on a planet though, Akivili is interested.
Akivili decides to keep Caelus on the Astral Express as he recovers. Caelus shouldn't be out there after all. Akivili will keep Caelus with them and the Nameless where he will be safe.
They won't take no for an answer.

Caelus has been transported to the past by Herta by means of a time machine. He's meant to find out more about Akivili, The Trailblaze, and he's meant to report what he finds out to Herta.
However, the planet he was transported to is attacked and Caelus blacks out. He wakes up on the Astral Express and meets the Aeon in their humanoid form. And the Aeon is surprisingly protective.
Though Akivili has seen a lot in the universe, the male with a strange destructive power in his body perplexes The Trailblaze. So, Akivili decides to keep Caelus on the Astral Express while he recovers.

Summary
Contrary to popular belief, Long was never dead. They were just asleep in the waters of the Luofu. Now that they've woken up, however, Long prefers to keep their distance and stay in the waters of the Luofu while watching over the Vidyadhara eggs in Scalegorge Waterscape. Two Vidyadhara eggs are taking a while to hatch though and it is making Long anxious.
What Long doesn't expect is for a human male to come across the eggs and dote on them. It makes Long curious about the male and makes them want to covet the male human for themself.
Caelus had just been listening to a rumbling song when he came across the eggs. Though he does try to keep his distance so as to not anger the dragon who makes the rumbling noises (who he believes to be their caretaker), Caelus can not resist getting close to the eggs and stays even when they hatch, leading to the two newborn Vidyadhara to imprint on him as a parent.
How will Caelus deal with practically raising two Vidyadhara and also finding out that The Permanence is alive and wants him?

Caelus encounters a strange creature on a planet that seems intent on devouring everything in sight. Not willing to sit back and just watch everything happen, Caelus fights with the large creature and nearly wins.
Little does he know that what he is fighting is one of The Voracity's smaller mouths. And Oroboros has taken notice of what Caelus is doing. So, they appear in their main humanoid body and take him down easily.
The Voracity takes a bite of this little human and gets addicted to taste of his flesh. So much so that they use their powers to heal his body so they can taste this mortal's flesh again and again.
It would be shameful to waste such a good meal after all.
