Jim and Spock had beamed down alone for what should have been a simple planetary checkup, per federation order, and had the unfortunate violent reaction that had become all too common lately.
They had been outnumbered, and in an attempt to not expose themselves further (a phaser was too advanced for this specific planet) they had been forced to flee.
