Summary
How you ever wondered how authors manage to go from nothing to fic over the course of however long it takes them to write? Well, it's different for every person--obviously--but for me, the answer is multiple drafts.
I write at a rate of 12-26 words per minute. When the entirety of my process work is brought into one document, the word count totals to about 16k. That means that before I have even started writing the first draft of The Red Bull Ring I have already sunk 10-22 hours into the project. And this is pure writing time, so it does not include idea generation away from my Google Doc, or time spend staring at said Google Doc blankly trying to come up with the next plot point.
Hence, I am inviting you to come take a look at my process work. Peak behind the curtain of a fic writer, and maybe compare with the published fic to see what changed from draft to draft.

For those of you unfamiliar with The Red Bull Ring, the summary boils down to "Charles finds out that everybody in his life is actually a gang member."

Summary
For all of Monaco’s perfections, like every other major population centre in Europe, something had to give. Hidden in its darkened alleys, whispered between articles in the papers, shared within knowing eyes, and buried by those who know better, is one simple truth: Monte Carlo is run by the gangs. The biggest of which is the Red Bull Ring.

Knock–Knock Knock–Knock.
Charles Leclerc knows that Max Verstappen is a Red Bull—he’s known for a while—and yet, he still lets the Dutchman push him onto his bed, without so much as a second thought, whenever the man shows up at his apartment.
OR: Charles finds out that everybody in his life is actually a gang member.
