Summary
John goes to see Javier for what will be the final time.
Javier doesn’t pull a knife, he doesn’t inch his hand toward John’s neck to choke him, he doesn’t do a damn thing for a moment. Then he whispers, sounding like the words were caught inside his throat and he had to pry to get them out.

“Ain’t no way of convincing ya’ to bring Dutch and them back to me, is there? No chance of us makin’ a deal?” Arthur outright laughs at that, it comes out sounding too close to a sob.
“Fuck your deal.”
Colm’s ugly grin dissipates. An uneasy quiet stills the air around them, between them. Arthur meets him with the sharpest gaze he can muster, trying to fight him off with his eyes alone. Folks always said he could look scary as hell whenever he wanted too. Right now, he hopes his gaze alone is an even match to Colm; he hopes they can all tell that he isn’t afraid. He’s pissed as hell, hurting somethin’ fierce, but he’s not afraid.

Summary
A picture comes to mind, his darling little boy, his lost son. His sweet little Issac, no more than four years old, a smile with teeth missing on a face resembling his own. Dimpled cheeks like his mother’s, brown hair, arms outstretched at his father. The picture melts and blackens from hellfire and smoke, his boy turns to Jack before his eyes.
Arthur blinks.
Jack Marston is dead. He’d choked on smoke from a fire they’d started for reasons Arthur cannot recall. God help them all.Whumptober prompt no. 7 "Can you hear me?"

Summary
After a botched escape attempt courtesy of Bill, John finds himself angry and pinned down by an even angrier Arthur Morgan. With no means of moving, the two are forced to reconcile. Arthur has questions he demands answers to and John has some long awaited answers ready to come spilling out, along with other things he never figured he'd say aloud.
