Summary
Close to three years on the run. A couple weeks in the crucible of a Duvosian invasion. Five days in Sandrock's jail.
Without fanfare, Logan's future is suddenly now. He knows he's got Haru and Andy. He knows he wants Lucy.
But when she welcomes him home with open arms, Logan's first day as an ostensibly absolved man becomes a day spent excavating the past and sharing secrets he'd tried to bury under years of sand.
This story is a prequel to Birds of Paradise. My goal with this fic is to share my take on Logan and Lucy's first free day together in the immediate aftermath of Logan's return to society. If I've done a decent job with it, it will be intimate, emotionally heavy, sweet, and eventually steamy.
We'll be dealing with some intense themes, including serious injuries, near-death experiences, and references to past suicidal ideation. Please mind the TWs in chapter notes. 💙

Summary
This is a continuation of The Long Way 'Round, a fic that details the beginnings of Logan and Lucy's relationship while Logan excavates his past and learns how to open up about his life-altering experiences for the first time in years.
This will be a series of shorter stories (with shorter chapters, for now) that give a glimpse into how they deal with various facets of the healing process as Logan settles back into life in Sandrock.
In this first one, Lucy helps Logan deal with Haru's departure for Atara University and the prospect of moving back into his Pa's house. A family unit is solidified, and Logan finds that a house full of ghosts can still be a home.
There will be some heavy (but canon-typical) topics discussed, but interspersed with levity as per usual for me. Tags will be added if they become relevant. I'm not sure if this will eventually be mature or explicit, but I tagged explicit just to be safe and I'll amend that if I need to. :)
