Summary
It was not with heavy heart that Paladin Took approached the Bird's Nest. But his ribs might've been weighty and his liver positively annoyed, and not just from the many fine ales and finer wines he'd consumed throughout his life. It was that damn Lotho again, Lotho Sacksville-Baggins from up Hobbiton way with his air and his Big Men—well, two could play at that game! And if anyone was going to be calling themselves "Chief" in this day and age, it would be the right and proper Thain of the Shire!
His blood up, he knocked rather hard on the oversized door. "Maggie! Are you in there? Open up!"

Summary
“Hello, Maggie!” Pippin said cheerfully. “We have great news!”
“We thought we ought to warn you,” said Frodo, with a little more circumspection but barely less humor or excitement.
Pippin said, “My father has decided that, if you are leaving, you are going to have a farewell party—and if a Baggins could have a farewell party fit to talk about for a hundred years, then a Took ought have one fit for five hundred at least!”
