Xornoth stepped out of the pupil, hovering just slightly over the mud. “Join me.”
“I may be pissed, but I’m not stupid.” Gem scoffed. “ No.”
“It wasn’t a question.”
Gem's kicked out of the alliance after repeated collecting and distributing alliance secrets. She's mad, mostly at herself, but she doesn't want to admit it. Xornoth sees, they see so much, and Gem's right there, waiting for it.

“If anything he did us a favor by leaving,” Her uncle said. “His lack of magical talent brought shame to the family. As a head family in the Crystal Cliffs we have a duty to maintain.”
“fWhip was weird,” Her little cousin mused. “But he was always nice. I don’t think I’ll miss him, though.”
fWhip has left the Crystal Cliffs to pursue his dreams, leaving a devastated and vulnerable sister behind. Sure hope nothing bad happens.

Gem changed into her nightgown, fWhip watching her, his nervous energy changing how the air in the room felt.
“What are you going to do now?” He asked, the voice of a scared little kid leaving his mouth.
“I am going to jump out of the window,” Gem said calmly. “And then I am going to head northwest.”

Gem’s lives with visions of her dead mother, so when her living mother finds out, she tries to run away.
