Summary
Everyone knows about Pearl’s Oak Tree. It’s the giant oak tree that keeps the camp safe by repelling all monsters. Without it, monsters would be attacking the camp almost every day.
Everyone also knows why the tree is there. Pearl wanted to ensure her friends would make it to the safety of Camp Half-Blood by sacrificing herself. However, Zeus did not want to see his daughter be killed, especially by Hades’ minions. So, to prevent her soul from reaching the underworld, he turned her into a giant oak tree. The tree has stood there for the past five years, and since then the only way a monster could enter the camp is if someone summoned it within the borders.
But what most people don’t know is how the tree got there in the first place. Most just learn that Pearl sacrificed herself, and Zeus took pity on her, but a select few know the true story, the story of Pearl’s Oak Tree.
