Summary
Year 1308.
After several defeats, Scotland and a military force under the leadership of Robert the Bruce finally regain control of Aberdeen Castle through an unexpected siege, reclaiming what had been unjustly seized by England and his monarch.
Yet this triumph would hardly have been possible without France’s assistance. Bound by his alliance with the northern kingdom, he sends soldiers to lend his support, remaining oblivious to the consequences the assault will entail for England, and to the way Scotland intends to make him pay for it.Apprehension and betrayal overwhelm England as he inevitably finds himself captured and defenseless.

"The wooden door swung open.
Inside, England lay curled on the bed, covered only by the blanket France had managed to find. His breathing was shallow, his limbs stiff. At the creak of the door, he stirred, blinking sluggishly; his mind took too long to catch up.
Then he saw him.
Scotland stood in the doorway, casting a long shadow over the dimly lit room.
England blinked. His mind lagged behind his senses. A nightmare, he thought numbly. Of course it was a nightmare. He had seen him standing there before, too many times to count.
But nightmares didn’t breathe.
Nightmares didn’t step closer."1308... What if Scotland comes back to see why France is taking so long… and decides to do it again, and make France watch?”

1308. England finds shelter in France’s camp, alive but deeply broken, fragile, and painfully aware of what happened.
The days stretch into a fragile endurance, the world beyond the tent echoing a life England no longer feels he belongs to. Survival becomes something quiet and uneven, measured in fractured sleep and bleeding memories.
As he struggles to reclaim his wholeness, his land, and himself, France remains at his side, haunted and shaken as well. His love remains his constant, bearing witness to the ripples of violence. "I wish it had ended with me. I wish you hadn’t had to see.” He only leaned against France’s chest, hiding his face. “I c-can’t stop seeing it,” he whispered. “When I close my eyes, it’s there again.
