Maybe this was a mistake, Reki is now thinking. Because the sound of Langa’s breath, being only a few centimetres from his face, was filling his eardrums and making his heart beat loudly. Langa was invading all of Reki’s senses and he couldn’t tell if it’s a good thing or bad. It’s intoxicating.
Or: Reki is a pining mess who loves painting his nails - Langa wants in on this nail painting business.

“I just… I wanted to talk about what happened a couple months back,” He starts, moving onto Miya’s other hand, starting from his index finger.
There’s a couple seconds of silence, before Miya uncharacteristically stutters a little, speaking quieter than before as if he’s unsure of his words, “Wh- What do you- What do you mean?”
Reki looks up from the teen’s nails, making eye contact for a few moments, “You know… Before I raced Adam in the tournament. At the hospital.”
