But the rabbit hole only goes deeper from there… What connections does Dante have to Darkcom? Why does the White Rabbit want his amulet? And where is Alice?(Or as the tags say, if Netflix asked me to write a Devil May Cry cartoon. This does not have any connection to the actual Netflix show except I take the name Darkcom and Lady is a part of that organization. The characters are based on the game characters, and the plot of this part is loosely inspired by the manga. I will go more into the philosophy of this story in the notes)

Summary
Months after the events of Part 1: Down the Rabbit Hole, figures from both Lady and Dante’s pasts reappear in unexpected ways. Lady has to grapple with her trust in Darkcom, and Dante must overcome his own demons, figuratively and literally.
(Or, part 2 of if Netflix hired me to write a Devil May Cry cartoon. I tagged the cartoon, but there is no real connection besides the fact it was what forced my hand.)

Summary
Things have quieted down after Temen-ni-gru, but of course, Dante's life is never quiet. Dante thought he'd seen the last of Vergil, until Nelo Angelo crashed through the ceiling of his newly named office. Lady arrives not long after with someone rather important. Someone like his amnesiac mother, who informs them that Mundus captured her and trapped her in a devil form, much like Vergil. The difference being, Mundus ripped Vergil's soul in two, and was using the demonic half, as well as his blood, the Yamato, and an upcoming planetary alignment, to break the seal Sparda had placed on him and return to conquer earth. So now their only option is to travel through the underworld to Mallet Island, Mundus' stronghold, free Vergil's soul before he wastes away, and defeat Mundus once and for all.
What more could Dante want? He's always wanted to go on a roadtrip to Dad's home town.

Summary
An unstated amount of time after Dante and co defeated Mundus and returned to the human world, a different demon king is trying to resurrect. Argo Sax, seeking to fill the power vacuum Mundus left, has sent his servant, Arius, to collect the Arcana and release the seal Sparda and the Protectors put on the former demon king so long ago.
All that nonsense is cutting into Dante's valuable nap time, something he has less and less of due to supporting his brother and Trish. Luckily Lucia is taking point on the mission, ready to take out Arius, prevent Argo Sax from resurrecting, and save Vie Di Marli, and the world! Unfortunately, Arius has some rather shocking news for her...
