Summary
The Kokiri had a saying: “Time’s arrow never stopped or reversed, it only flew forward with deadly accuracy.” It was as fatalistic and rigid as everything else Kokiri, ironic considering the forest was supposed to be a place things grew. That was the folly of Fair Folk like the children of the forest, they were unchanging and uncompromising. They did not understand their mortal neighbors, nor did they want to.
Link liked a Hylian saying much better. Viscen, that stubborn old knight, had told him when he was 17 but not really with a wicked smirk: “When you think you’re powerless and some asshole’s got one over you- grab em’ by the balls, and twist.”

Summary
Link just needed to find Navi. Everything else in his quest had been finished, Zelda was convinced it was time for him to rest. His job was done. Everyone else got their happy ending, what about his?
It was time to grow up.
Fine. He just had to find one last loose end, the last unanswered question in his quest. Then, and only then, would his 7 year journey truly be over.
It didn’t matter if he knew it was impossible. Better, actually. Unfortunately (any excuse not to go back), the feckless Terminians need his help or else the moon will crash into them.
